Northwind Robotics Unveils Warehouse Robot That Learns New Tasks in Hours

Northwind Robotics Unveils Warehouse Robot That Learns New Tasks in Hours

SEATTLE, Wash. — Northwind Robotics, Inc. today introduced Atlas-1, a warehouse picking robot that the company says can learn to handle new products in hours rather than the days or weeks typical of earlier systems.

Atlas-1 combines standard camera hardware with an on-device learning model that adapts to unfamiliar items during normal operation, reducing the specialized setup that has slowed warehouse automation.

“The bottleneck in automation was never the arm — it was teaching the robot,” said Ravi Anand, co-founder and chief technology officer of Northwind Robotics. “Atlas-1 closes that gap.”

The company is piloting the system with two national retailers and expects broader availability in 2027.

About Northwind Robotics, Inc. — Northwind Robotics builds adaptive automation for warehouses and distribution centers. It is based in Seattle, Washington.
